To the one I love,

My gentle, good, and faithful friend!

The one whose kind heart never takes offense 

And lives in peace unto each end.

 

To the one I love,

The one who never turns away.

The one who shares each tear that I cry,   

And holds me close every day.

 

The one who knows all the sins in my heart,

And doesn’t count them as a loss.

The one who suffers all the wounds that I bear,

And took my place on the cross.

 

The one who believes in me!

The one who sees in me

A gift, a dream, a promise for tomorrow…   

 

To the one I love,

The one whose joy shines ever bright.

The one who cares for each soul in this world,

And offers hope through every plight.

 

To the one I love,

The one who stays ever true.

The one who comforts each sorrow,    

And forgives all that’s due.

 

To the one I love,      

My gentle, good, and faithful friend!

The one who cheers me ever, ever on…

Until I reach the end.
