The Fickle Ways of Love
She looks at me, and I can’t believe
What churns in me, that strange, unnerving
Hold on me, that stuns me as I see
She turns from me, and then I can’t believe
The wound inside that’s now torn wide
The walls where once I hid.
With just a smile she broke my wiles
And pierced my heart, oh yes!
Oh, but then I see, her eyes alight
On someone else, not me,
And with her laugh I burst inside, you see,
And burn to tear apart his face in glee.
But then she stands, and this tepid lover
Seeks out another, leaving both of us aflame.
My friend stares at me and I can’t believe
I almost killed him for a dame!
Oh, but that, you see, is why I can’t give in
To what aches in me, a heart that melts at every
Blush it sees, no matter if
That wiggle’s meant for me.
Oh it’s hopeless, can’t you see?
When will I learn how to discern
The fickle ways of love?
When will I learn how to discern
The fickle ways of love?

Oh, but that, you see, is why I can’t give in
To what aches in me, a heart that melts at every
Blush it sees, no matter if
That wiggle’s meant for me.
Oh it’s hopeless, can’t you see?
When will I learn how to discern
The fickle ways of love?
When will I learn how to discern
The fickle ways of love?
The fickle ways of love?
