Looking for a Way
to Get Back Home
Sweating through this hot summer night,
With no one to talk to, and nothing in sight,
How I long to open these doors and scream!
So many choices in front of me,
All promising just what could be,
Yet none could measure up to their grand dream.
How did I ever take my eyes off of you?
How’d I forget what I’ve seen?
Blinded by lies that others claimed were so true,
Oh, what I’ve give to be clean!
I’m looking for a way to get back home.
I’m all worn out from trying to roam.
Looking for a way to get back home tonight.
I really don’t know just what went wrong,
But in this place I just don’t belong.
Looking for a way to get back home tonight.
Oh, yes, tonight!
All my thoughts seem lost in a haze.
Not one hope has broken through.
I can’t see my way out of this maze.
I don’t know what I’m going to do!
I’m looking for a way to get back home.
I’m all worn out from trying to roam.
Looking for a way to get back home tonight.
I really don’t know just what went wrong.
But in this place I just don’t belong.
Looking for a way to get back home tonight.
Tonight, oh yes, tonight!
