The word "Fashan" draws from a fantasy world I concocted in my youth. Impressed by Tolkien's Middle Earth, I thought I would do him one better and write the complete history of a planet from its birth to its death. I had some concept of this immense scope, having spent many of my childhood years devouring our family World Book Encyclopedia and the Bible.
