Bleeding Out

I don’t know how much longer I can take this.

I find no rest anymore.

For years and years I’ve shouldered this harsh burden.

Now it’s worn clear through my core.

I’m bleeding out. I’m bleeding out.

This wound’s cut far too deep.

I’m bleeding out. I’m bleeding out.

I’ve no strength to even weep.

For oh so long I’ve trusted God with this heartache.

I’ve prayed and prayed to find my way.

But never once has He freed me from this prison.

These thorns I bear are here to stay.

I’m bleeding out. I’m bleeding out .

This battle’s nearly run its course.

I’m bleeding out. I’m bleeding out.

But I arrive with no remorse.

I’ve always known this life would not be easy,

And each choice was ever mine.

Through it all, my God has never left me,

Even as I near the end of this line.

I don’t know how much longer I can take this.

This pain ever seeks to rend.

But this I know, that better things await me,

And Christ’s love will never end.

I’m bleeding out. I’m bleeding out.

Salvation’s just a breath away.

I’m bleeding out. I’m bleeding out.

On this faithful track I’ll stay,

Gearing up for a new day.
